The "last godfather": the capture of Mafia head Messina Denaro

Last week, the head of the Sicilian Mafia, Matteo Messina Denaro, was finally arrested after thirty years on the run.

Apparently, one of the most dangerous men in the world was hiding in plain sight near his native town.

But how did he spend his last months of freedom and how did the special units of the Italian Carabinieri police eventually manage to apprehend him after three decades at large?
